❤ Sizzling September ❤

Heart of the Community has enjoyed another exciting month with the formation of new partnerships and growth in term of service users, volunteers and trustees.

❤ New Partnerships ❤ Heart of the Community Trustees are delighted to have completed the trustees development course provided by Wessex Community Action.

It was an invaluable course covering topics such as roles and responsibilities of Trustees and Safeguarding.

As a result of this training Heart of the Community welcomes Julie Godwin and Carol Lavery as two new trustees.

Heart of the Community continues to enjoy the partnerships already formed with Calne Foodbank, Healthier Communities and our Resident Hairdresser, we are delighted to be in discussion with the Calne River Warriors an eco friendly group to see how we can work together. Heart of the Community has continued to try to help the local community by being a collection point for the Calne Christmas Hampers while the wider community has been served by collecting clothes and toiletries for the Afghan refugees.

❤ Events ❤ When Heart of the Community planned its August Fayre, it was with the purpose of raising awareness of its new location.

As it happened, the footfall on Bank Holiday Monday exceeded all expectations, and a small surplus was made. It was so much fun organising and planning it is hoped to hold regular events.

The next event planned is a Halloween Party, split over two days to accommodate the interest in a safe environment. This will take place on 29th and 30th October. For more information please contact Natasha on Heart-of-the-community@outlook.com Heart of the Community will be at the Craft Fayre in Calne Town Centre on Saturday 2nd October, selling hand-made cards, used books and of course, raffle tickets for our December Draw. First prize is a limited edition signed print from local artist Nellie Hearn entitled 'Heart of the Ocean".

❤ What next? ❤ Heart of the Community are delighted to announce that from October 16th we will be open 6 days a week. The hours of opening will be Monday to Friday 11am to 4pm and Saturday 11am to 2pm.

Our goal when we relocated to Colemans Farm in July was to offer good quality food and company Monday to Saturday. Less than 4 months after opening, our ambition will have been achieved.
